These MSD Digital GM high-energy modules with rev limiters allow you to adjust the rpm limit between 5,000 and 9,000 rpm. True high-performance modules built for HEI distributors, they produce 50 percent higher coil drive currents than the stock module. This saturates the coil faster, which gives you more spark energy at top speeds. The results are increased horsepower and rpm range, and improved starting. When used with MSD's HEI coil, these plug-in modules create a potent high-energy spark to 9,000 rpm. MSD's GM HEI modules replace all 4-pin modules used in HEI distributors with a vacuum advance canister. They can be used with factory, aftermarket, or MSD HEI distributors.

Cool product. Was not sure if this would work but it is flawless so far. Have not run engine enough to determine durability but so far so good. I bought a Summit billet distributor (HEI) then replaced the module with this one. This was my way of getting the features and quality I wanted on the cheap in the form of mix and match. It's worked great so far. The details of operation are good but I still do not know how many times I can revise the rev limiter. I figured this is a good way to use it as Valet switch to protect the car from the tire shop if I'm not there. Don't let the appearance sway you away. Seeing the solder points and wiring and make some feel uneasy but it's a good product. I may do it again on my other car. ...read more

I am impressed with the performance of this ignition module. The rev limiter works well every time it is hit and is easy to set. I like the rev limit verification feature also. I wish the limiter was a little softer like my MSD 7 series box but for the price you cant beat it.

I purchased this in the hopes that at idle or under 2000 rpm it would burn fuel efficient. Since putting in the 4 pin I have noticed the fuel smells have gone and now getting on it while cruising the rev limiter works as expected and easy to setup and change. I am happy with the product. The jury is still out but have noticed the economy seems to have increased now with ac on my 67 chevelle with a 454 bigblock the idle doesn't drop random and it holds nice and stable. Before the stock 4 pin the idle would random drop from 900 rpm to 400 and sometime the motor would stall. Ignition module for E Street FI by Edelbrock

By recommendation of Edelbrock techs I installed this to provide a clean tach signal for my E Street fuel injection. It did not work any better than the stock HEI module.. At 4000rpm the injection dies and the engine does not rev over 4k. I went back to Mallory ignition and carb works great, 6000rpm plus. Moral of the story, for street use it probably works but for feeding tach signal to an E Street fuel injection system it doesn't. ...read more
