These MSD Street Fire HEI distributors are packed with high-quality features and components. These distributors use a centrifugal advance assembly with coated weights and welded weight pins (not just pressed in). The Street Fires are fit with the same gear that is used on MSD Pro-Billet models. The metallurgy of this gear has been refined for years to perform through the harshest conditions. Inside the distributors, the ignition module and coil work together to produce a stout spark to light the fuel mixture for great performance. The high voltage is transferred through a specially designed rotor to the brass terminals of the distributor cap and out to the plugs. Used this product to upgrade the ignition on my '65 El Camino and can't believe the difference! Better at idle, smooth acceleration all the way up the power curve, etc. It's a bolt in replacement, no customization, so no worries to buy for a collector car!

This is a great product! It comes as a unit, meaning it has everything you need, coil, cap, rotor, and all of the internals. All the installer needs to do is line it up to the proper timing, plug 12v into it and enjoy the sound of the engine. The price cannot be beat as far as stock replacements are concerned. Finally gave up on the old points and went HEI. Ease of installation and adjustment. The advance curve as it was set out of the box worked perfectly (although I did get an advance kit... maybe for a later day). Vac advance limiter was simple to install and my project is purring right along.
