MSD engineers drew upon their experience with Top Fuel cars and created these new HVC-2 coils for use with the MSD 6 Series Ignition Controls. These coils utilize an iron U-Core design with a segmented bobbin for improved voltage distribution. The bobbin is molded from Dupont Rynite FR946 and wound specifically to create an effective coil with incredible voltage capabilities, lightning quick rise time, and lengthy spark duration. The housing, also molded from Rynite material, features far-spaced brass primary terminals and a well-protected secondary tower for increased spark isolation. The housing is completely potted with an epoxy compound for vibration resistance and installs with sturdy vibration mounts. They're designed for use with MSD 6 Series ignitions.

installing the correct coil

When you want the very best

I bought this coil because it's specs far exceeded anything else in it's class. I run a big cam in a boat that has to idle for hours. My plugs after 2 seasons look almost new. I also don't have a choke so I need a really hot spark to get started when it's really cold out. My boat starts like EFI no matter what the temp.

i think it a terrible color unless you are a ford person. blue in a chevy is a no no but it works. the specs are the reason i bought it. the dwell time it the highest that they sell. i think its way over priced for being just a coil but oh well. it is a quality piece but its kind of big. i have my 6al and this coil mounted inside the car. if you are going to mount it under the hood, just make sure you have room for it. wish the thing was red instead of blue. ...read more
