Check the screws!

this was a direct replacement, no mods necessary. Only problem i had was i did not check the tightness of the rotor screws because it was new, i figured it was torqued to spec but within 80 miles of run time the rotor came loose and destroyed itself and the distributor cap leaving me stranded on the side of the road. lesson learned

I installed this piece to replace a 16 year old oem distributor. Construction of the body is metal and superior to oem. The rotor and cap did not last 5000 miles after installation. The contacts corroded and the rotor contact oxidized dramatically. The vehicle developed a misfire and the distributor was the last thing we looked at since it was fairly new. The coil I purchased with the this distributor (also MSD) did not last a 1000 miles. Cap, rotor and coil have been replaced and the vehicle runs fine. ...read more
