MSD's 8.5mm Super Conductor wire sets have a special helically wound core that has just 40-50 ohms of resistance per foot--but with an RFI suppression equal to a 1,500 ohm wire. In fact, each foot of finished wire features 40 ft. of tightly wound copper for superior conductivity. This winding procedure, combined with a ferro-magnetic impregnated center core, produces an extremely effective Electro Magnetic Interference "choke". This choke, or suppression capability, keeps the EMI inside the wire where it cannot interfere with other electronics on your vehicle. A tough, 8.5mm synthetic/silicone jacket over an extra-heavy glass braid and dielectric insulator keeps the current guided to the plugs. Underneath the high-temperature boots, dual crimp stainless steel terminals feature snap-locks to ensure a secure fit. Each set comes with clip on cylinder markers, for easy identification. MSD's 8.5mm Super Conductor wire sets come available in custom or universal-fit applications.

Nice Idea,lots of options

This plug wire set is a nice idea it gives you lots of flexibility as to how you can run your wires. My only complaint is that you are required to bend 90 degree tabs on the ends that you are crimping.The 90 degree bends are supposed to be 1/16 long this proves very difficult when using needlenose pliers (as recommended). It would have made the job a lot easier if this bend had been pre bent as part of the crimp end. Also the instructions are just ok. I got this plug wire set to make custom wires for my LQ4 with relocated coils. I have had good luck with MSD plugs wires in the past, and have fabricated quite a few of their custom wire sets. These gave me quite a bit f difficulty in assembly. I had a problem where it was difficult to make the wire crimp small enough to fit inside the tip of the OE GM ignition coils. If the crimp would not fit into the tip of the coil, the plug wire terminal would not click on to the coil terminal. I was eventually able to get all eight to fit good, and in the end I am happy with them. I think the terminals could be redesigned to keep the plug wire crimp further away from the coil, which would improve fit and ease assembly. ...read more
